Pinatas in the Barrio: family fest with music, food and dance

Canela, Bobby Esquivel/Liberty Band, Tina & Grupo Tormenta will be among the headliners at the Pinatas in the Barrio
family fest scheduled April 18.
 
The family fest is an official part of Fiesta 2009. The Pinatas in the Barrio is scheduled to unfold at the Plaza Guadalupe. Pinatas fest organizer Rick Uriegas said an official poster has been released.
 
The rest of the performers are Mariachi Los Parientes, Josie Champioin Dance Group, Samba San Antonio, Alamo CIty Community Marching Band, Ballet folkliroc Del Cielo, Grupo Cielo, Raymond Gonzalez Y Rayo, Martinez Brothers.
 
According to Uriegas, the festival is in its 12th year as an Official Fiesta San Antonio Event, and is sponsored by Texas Community Health Network in conjunction with Avenida Guadalupe Association.
 
This event will feature live entertainment, delicious food, and fun for the whole family. "Miss Piñatas in the Barrio Princess" will also be crowned this day and will participate in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade.
