New merengue music CD releases

El Chaval, Kewdy De Los Santos and Shino Aguakate are among the latest merengue artists with new releases.

In this report our correspondent Jose Mambo goes down the details of the new releases.

Juliana O’Neal, La Reyna Del Mambo, the only female representation of new age merengue has recorded a traditional merengue, called merengue tipico, which is the roots of merengue from the Dominican Republic with La Revolucion Tipica.

Merengue Tipico is the original sound merengue with accordion and saxophone being its focal sounds.

Bachatero “El Chaval” has recorded a special Merengue tribute to bachata legend Luis Vargas.

Luis Vargas is a pioneer of the BachataRengue sound, one of the first to incorporate the Bachata Guitar sound with merengue.

Hendry y RayMambo y Los Monstrous Tipico have released a new single titled “La Muchacha De Juango”

Shino Aguakate has recorded a live version of bachata artist Kiko Rodriguez’s “Me Quede Solo En la Pobreza” into a merengue tipico.

Kewdy De Los Santos has recorded a catchy merengue track called “La Leche” and has been an instant hit at the Clubs of Santo Domingo.
