I was watching an episode, and you could tell it must be fake when they would cut from one camera to the other... first, they'd be shooting from one person's perspective, and then they would cut to the other person's perspective. From the first perspective, there is no camera behind the other person, but instantly, when the cut happens, there's a camera behind the other person... getting the other perspective. Defiintely staged.

Just watched the season finale 5/7/12... @ the end of the show unless I totally phased out Sonia had on a black (of course) velvet dress, then in the middle of the repo it looked as if the dress morphed in2 another black dress. Did she ear it? Oopse no i did'nt.... I like her as well as the entire cast,Hmmm? Still, all & all it's mindless enjoyment!

Most of the characters on this show would be better off being contestants on the Biggest Loser. Sonia is THE grossest woman I have ever seen. While we're at it, Tru TV should flush Lizard Lick along with Repo the next time after that fat nasty mexican takes a dump.

where they showed up at this lot and their were about 6 adults dressed up in marching band outfits and had instruments,
claiming they had a show to get to with that vehicle and that it was urgent.
The repo men asked them to play them a song and when they did they sucked!

Also, the first episode I watched had the bald wannabe wrestler claiming he had to take a dump really urgently, so he began driving really badly while towing a BMW with a cameraman in the car.

Turns too fast, rolls car onto its top. Everyone freaks out. Operation Steroid doesn't have to go anymore (amazing!), car is obviously NOT the same one shown before, cameraman ok, boss rolls up angry, blah, blah, blah.
This show and that "Lizard Lick" show should team up with the Kardashians - "Operation Lizard Sisters Pick Up Anything But Talent".

First of all, repo men, or women are not allowed to TOUCH you!!! That fat, nasty broad on there routinely pushes, shoves and threatens people.The first time that skank laid a hand on me she'd be headed for the emergency room........then straight to jail for assualt.
I watched two episodes and that was all I could stomach. I like her partner....to an extent. But HE gets physical too.In the real world anyone they touched would just call the law and have them arrested for assault.

If this show really is fake, which I doubt however i think there are many points on both sides of the arguments, then could you people tell the name of this actress in the "family matters" episode. I have searched all over and even reveres searched this image, but still haven't gotten a name.

I've been watching the show for a while now and just tonight while watching it I was like this is so stupid and so fake!!! They go to pick up a beetle and the girl comes to the door and says "does it look like I don't pay my bills" and then another guy steps up who soon calls for 5 other guys to come out with bats and iron rods and run off the repo guys. But not once dud they call the cops??!!! Fake fake fake!! I just hate that they fooled me like that. I am truly disappointed. I had to jump on my computer and google "is operation repo fake?" and that brought me here. I'll never watch it again!! I hope they take it off the air.

OMG, I feel like a gullible fool! Seriously, my husband and I never noticed the disclaimer. We thought the show was real, but now that I've read some comments here about the people on the show, it does make sense that they are actors. I was surprised at some of the outrageous things that happened. Those people...the repo crew and the debtors...gosh how could I have missed the bad acting?! This will teach me to more discerning! Hubby and I watched just to watch the freak show that Sonia is...gross and no self-respect. Yeah, like that one guy wrote...she puts the U in UGLY! Matt's character...total bully and big pussy dork. Lou, Sonia, Froy and Lynda ought to go to Weight Watchers! Or Jenny Craig! Somebody call Valerie Bertinelli to the rescue!

I Repossed Cars for over 2 years in some pretty bad areas, and even so I only had 3 mildly violent experiences!/

What this show represents is a DANGER to anyone in the Repo bussiness.

Although there is a WORSE Repo show out there called Lizard Lick, which is almost laughable.

Almost Everytime we did a repo that we thought might be a tough one, or in a different city, the first stop we made
was to the Local PD to notify them, RARELY did we yank cars out of someone;s driveway in BROAD DAYLIGHT, and Even More rarley did we enter someone's property that went more than 15 feet back from the steeet !!!

Another thing they do NOT show you on the show is that about 80 percent of the Clients have KEY CODES to thier cars, or trucks!!!! We Just CUT the keys b4 we even went out and drive the cars away, WE DID NOT NEED TO KNOCK on doors and ASK for thier KEYS, and even if we had to tow the cars we HARDLY ever asked the the keys, unless it was a Voulantary, that is how you get HURT!

AS a matter of fact we ALWAYS tried to avoid confrontation, beacuse if the Debtor Called the Police and PD rolled up to a argument between us and the debtor on their property, Guess who gets to keep the Car>?, LOL Not us!!

Now I stopped working in this field over 10 years ago, but I can guar you that the Repo laws have gotten even tougher, not like the Wild West you see on these trashy shows!!!

I am so disappointed in finding this out. My 13 yr old told me today her teacher had told her it was fake. He said at the end of the show it states something of this sort. My daughters dad (he recently passed away) made a name for himself repo'ing cars and honestly loved his job. (He was also featured on our local news.) He faced some very similiar and also some very scary situations. This truly disappoints me and I will not be watching this show ever again. What a disgrace to the men and women who make this their career. Ugh, I am truly irritated. Screw operation repo! Feature what the people who really do this job go through!!!!

the episode where matt got stunned gunned by the old man, should be a lesson to them and anyone who repos for a living. You cannot trespass illegally. repos must take place on public property with police presense and notification prior to.

their job is to locate, and take back the car. not to trespass, threaten, harass, demand, extort, assault and so on. all three of them need to be sued once or twice civil and see if their show airs next season. see if the bank backs them then or pays for their legal fees.

Hmm, I never had any reason at first to doubt it. I always thought the disclaimer only meant that the names of the 'victims' had been changed. A lot of people are yelling at other people in this forum, but everyone can think whatever they want I suppose. I just randomly stumbled upon a, "It's all fake!!" thread online which then lead me into more and more and more. Started to think, "This is kinda odd... Is it true?"

Makes sense, but it is a little disappointing because it all seemed real to me. Other people can discover falsities in shows like this instantly, but I was never good at it. Re-enactments, based on stories, staged... It's probably true that it's fake if the disclaimer is up and all I see on the Net on the issue. Ah well. Fake or not, it was still a fun show. But now I'm not so sure I'm gonna watch it anymore...

I enjoyed watching operation repo with my 11 year old daughter, until we realized some of these incidents were coming across really bizarre and down right fake. I at first thought it was real but the more I watched the more i was convinced it was so staged. now its just dumb

They went too far with the fake staging by using a fake pastor who was cussing and casino chips fell out of his pocket. This was by far the worst acting job of all, and Lou claims to be afraid of getting hit by lightning for doing a repo on a car, but he is using the show to create a fake situation and make a mockery of the church. Pretty lame.

I, too, at first thought it was all real. However I did pick up on the disclaimer at the beginning, so I was weary right away. My personal feeling, for what it's worth, is that at least SOME of it is actual footage. And why not? I mean in my own life experience I've seen some crazy stuff, so this isn't hard to believe. For instance as a bartender in a redneck town I saw things some of you might not believe if you saw it on tv. On the other hand do concede that a lot of it is only "based" (loosely?-who knows) on actual repos. Of course they embellish for tv when necessary... but don't we all really make things that happen at work sound better, or at least make ourselves look better and the other guy look like an idiot? I also have to say that when I got laid off for a while last year, I stopped making my car payments and waited for the repo guys. They showed up eventually (of course I'm not an idiot so I was expecting them). And when they got there it was actually very similar to the show. Only difference was I'm not a moron and I just gave them the keys, and they were helpful and even helped me get stuff out of my truck. I even made a joke about the show and told them I could have been a jerk and let the dogs out or something. I've read posts about the show where people said repo people should have some kind of ID or have the authorities, or wear uniforms. Well I can tell you that when they have a court order, they need nothing else. I can also understand why. But I was cool with them, and they were cool with me. I, after all, was the one who did not make the payments. You have to be a real idiot to hold the repo guys responsible. Anyway, that's just my personal experience.

That show is pathetic!! Even my 14 year old son said it is the worst, staged, show ever! I really liked it but did not take long to see it was soo unrealistic and not believable. I'm like many others. When the show first aired, I think it was genuine but now some of the scenes look like something from Reno 911! Some of the scenarios are absurd. I'd like to think they could have pulled it off without the faking but it didn't happen. I no longer watch the show.

It is an re-enactment. Look it up in your Funk and Wagnall. A re-enactment is something that occurred at one time and is re-enacted at another time for the camera. It states that right at the beginning of each show. And to the person who said the show isn't funny, it's not supposed to be funny, it's supposed to be entertainment and it certainly is that.

I have never watched one minute of this show. But after seeing the advertisements I don't watch shows about pigs. Especially ugly ones!

i knew it was fake when i saw the episode of this fat, black dude (that looked like fat albert)getting his car repoed in from of his shot gun house(he laid on the hood). What was the catch? his wife was a GEORGEOUS black woman that had model looks. I never watched another episode after that bcuz i knew she wouldnt be with him in real life. And by the looks of the house, he was clearly poor.....which made no sense as to why she would be married to him. SCAM SHOW!!

After watching the show i just watched, where a guys son comes out from no where and supposedly kick Matt in the nuts....... Yeah that was as fake as it gets, and almost as bad as the Mid South Wrestling actors back in the 70's. That will be the last show watched by me! LOSERS1

All the physical altercations are STAGED... with actors or stuntmen. That's why you never see anyone's faces being blurred out. In a real reality show... a face MUST be blurred out if the person doesn't give their consent to be on camera.

i now that in texas. if a stranger was atempting to take my property,i would b alowd to use reasonable force to stop the threat. wich means u r under arest. a citizens arest. like a police. u surender and comply. if not, then u r resisting arest. dont resist. everything will b investiated once police arive to do there job.
