Jimmy Gonzalez y Grupo Mazz: on stage at Thirstys

Grupo Mazz takes the main stage at Thirstty on Thursday 10/8. Thirstys is a new club in New Braunfels, at 262 W. Jahn St.

Mazz, led by Jimmy Gonzalez, is up for a 2009 Latin Grammy for

 their CD "The Legend Continues... La continuación.' Mazz is nominated in the best Tejano CD category. For club details call (512) 644-4626

The 10th Annual Latin Grammys are scheduled Nov. 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The awards are to be broadcast live on the Univision Network at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. www.latingrammy.com.

She was known as the singer of such 1980s hits as  "Lovergirl," "Ooo La La La" and "Lead Me On." Her name was Teena Marie and among her claims to fame was that she was the first white act on the legendary Motown label.

Teena Marie died Sunday. She was 54.

She reportedly died in her sleep and was found by her daughter.
 
An autopsy for the R&B singer was scheduled for early this week, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office told news sources Monday.
