Michael Jackson Tribute Band: 'working to keep MJ’s legacy alive'
SA show set for Monday

"Michael Jackson was one of the greatest performers of all time," said Who’s Bad band leader Vamsi Tadepalli in an interview Thursday. “We’re working to keep his legacy alive by reproducing his best music and moves at our shows.”

Tadepalli said the 90-minute show will cover all

of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, famous moves and unforgettable choreography.

The Who's Bad is an international tour that is scheduled to stop in San Antonio oin Monday Oct. 19. The show is scheduled at the Noche Caliente nightclub, 2502 Pleasanton Rd. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Promoter Margie Marshall of Keke Entertainment, says the SA show will start at 9 p.m. Presale tickets ($10) are on sale at HEB on Military & Pleasanton. Tickets at door $15; minors $20. 18 & up welcome.

Tadepalli said the crowd reaction is almost always the same- fans crying, laughing, screaming as the band
Tries to capture all the high-energy emotion of Jackson’s famous groundbreaking music and dance steps.

“Even those friends who sometimes get dragged to the show,” said Tadepalli. “We see them standing off with arms crossed. By the end of the show they’re also standing and screaming with the rest of them.

"At the show fans can expect to relive the feeling they had when they first heard 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough,' 'Billie Jean,' 'Thriller,' and 'Off the Wall'.”

Who’s Bad current world tour kicked off Sept. 23 in Queretaro, Mexico and ends on March 13, 2010 in Cheltenham, England. They played Vancouver, British Columbia earlier this week. Last Thursday they played at Stubbs in Austin and are playing Corpus Christi the night before their San Antonio stop.

"Michael left such a big impression all over the world,” said Tadepalli. “We’re just doing the best we can to keep the memory of the King of Pop alive.”
