Familiar names dominated the 2010 edition of the Univision Premios a la Musica Latina awards held Thursday at Sunset Station.

Big winners included Michael Salgado, Los Chamacos, songwriter Ramon Gonzalez-Mora, Los Rieleros and David Lee Garza.

The 6th annual award ceremonies was presented by San Antonio's KWEX-TX (Channel 41) held at Sunset Station. The award ceremonies have always been put together by top producer Cesar Medrano. This year's show allso featured performances by such artists as Jorge Alejandro Y la Paz, Michael

 Salgado, El Guero y Grupo Centenario and Campanas de America.

Gonzalez-Mora won big for the cancion (song) of the year for the tune "Se nos murió el amor" performed by El Güero y su Banda Centenario.

González-Mora was also honored with the Univision Merit award, given for his body of work as a composer who has written songs for such groups as Bronco, Mandingo, Los Mismos, Liberación and Mojado.

"To date, Ramon Gonzalez-Mora has received 13 BMI Latin Awards; including 2 BMI Latin Song of the Year Awards (Morir de Amor-2001 & Perdoname Mi Amor-2004), a Premio Lo Nuestro award and in 2003 received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Regional Mexican Song of the Year.  A BMI Million-Air award in 2009, and now the Univision Merit Award and the 2010 Premios a la Musica Latina Song of the Year award.

"He concentrates exclusively on songwriting, publishing songs thru his company SEG-SON MUSIC, Inc., and overseeing the operations of his record company, A.R.C. Discos."

El Guero also took album of the year honors for his CD "Se nos murió el amor."

A near capacity crowd enjoyed the festivities held at the main ballroom at Sunset Staton.

Tejano artists were also winners. DLG took best progressive conjunto album of the year while Jaime de Anda y los Chamacos grabbed best traditional conjunto CD.

Raul Navaira, Emilio's brother, took best new artist honors.

Camila, Pedro Fernandez, Juan Luis Guerra, Enrique Iglesias, Rosario, and Wisin Y Yandel will be among the performers for the 11th Annual Latin Grammy® Awards.

The Latin Grammys are scheduled Nov. 11 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network,

In addition, actor/comedian Eugenio Derbez and actress/singer Lucero will co-host this year's celebration.
