Former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant has announced a new tour this summer featuring his Band of Joy, that includes a few Texas dates. 

Sadly, the nearest SA date so far is in Austin on July 26. The venue. the outdoor venerable Stubbs BBQ Tickets for the Austin show go on sale TOMORROW - yes Wednesday, through http://stubbs.frontgatetickets.com/. Plant's new CD on the Rounder Records label is

already in the planning stages.

Guitarist Buddy Miller, who is also playing in Plant's group on the tour, is co-producing the CD. The rest of the band on the tour includes: Darrell Scott, multi-instrumentalist/vocals; Patty Griffin, vocals; Byron House, bass/vocals; Marco Giovino, drums and percussion/vocals.

According to several news reports: "Plant's new, as-yet-untitled album is his first since the multi-platinum, six-Grammy-winning Raising Sand, his collaboration with Alison Krauss. "Krauss has lately been working with her Union Station band, and she plans to tour with Union Station this summer.

Though Plant and Krauss aren't expecting a new album or tour in 2010, Plant said in a news release, "Oh yes, Alison and I get together quite often ... and sometimes we dance."

The next nearest Texas city for SA is Houston. where Plant & company swing in on July 24 at the Woodlands Pavilion.
