Big names in music circles will brush up against some of the new upcoming faces at the 2010 Tejano Conjunto Festival scheduled May 11-15.

Among the top dogs expected at the festival, are Los Dos Gilbertos, Bernardo y sus Compadres, Joel Guzman, and Flaco Jiménez.

The festival is scheduled to unfold at the Guadalupe Theater and at Rosedale Park.

Each year, the festival, considered

  one of the largest conjunto showcases in the country, puts the spotlight on pioneers of the genre as well as on some of the top upcoming bands.

Fior the last 20-odd years the TCF has presented a huge variety of conjunto groups, from young talents to the older established pioneers. Their TCF Hall of Fame has also seen the likes of names like Santiago Jimenez Sr., Valerro Longoria, Mingo Saldivar, Flaco Jimenez and others inducted into the hall.
 
This year, the late Ruben Vela will be remembered with a tribute. Vela passed away a few months ago at the age of 72.

Admission ranges from free to $30 to $35 and there are also multi-day passes available.
