The largest music block party in Tejano history unfolds Friday at Market Square when the 2011 Tejano Music Awards Fanfair.

Dozens and dozens of new artists will be showcased on several stages throughout the annual three-day showcase. While the awards are better known, it is the Fanfair that gets

 all the attention as hundreds of younger artists vye for a chance to get noticed, to get new fans and/or get signed. And while some veteran Tejano bands may get jaded, the younger artists go all out to impress, playing with renewed energy and vigor.

There will also be new artists already carving out careers such as Veronica y Avance, Sonidos del Barrio, Candace Vargas, Natajja, Jorge Moreno, Los Matadors, Monica Castro and Ilyssa Saenz. Groups are traveling fiorm far away states including New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, California Colorado and Michigan.  Veronica Flores, a finalist for La Doble De Selena and TengoTalento Mucho Talento, is also appearing.

There will also be some well-known artists including David Olivares, Sunny Sauceda, Stefani Montiel, Gary Hobbs,  Raulito Navaira, Albert Zamora, Jimmy Gonzalez y Mazz, Jay Perez, Shelly Lares, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jaime y Los Chamacos.

The TMA Fan Fair starts Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20 offering non-stop live Tejano Music on seven stages. More than 100 bands in totla are scheduled.
 
In other activities, a special dedication of the Selena commemorative stamp, part of the Latin Music Legends Series will be unveiled at Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair Friday, March 18, 2011 during the opening ceremonies beginning at noon.
 
The TMA Fanfair will also offer food and beverage booths as well as shopping in the Mercado area.
