He followed with stints with Los Fabulosos 4 and later graduated to Los Unicos. Then he formed Snowball and Company with famed singer Laura Canales. More recently he was singing as a soloist and as a part of a Christian musical group known as Los Mensajeros de Cristo with whom he recorded his final album.

In 2002 Ramiro "Snowball" de la Cruz along with his bandmates from Los Fabulosos 4 and Los Unicos were inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame.

I recall when Snowball came over to my grandparents house on Christmas eve. We lived in Boling Texas and my grandfathers Birth day was on Dec. 24th. What a great voice he had, he sang for my grandparents and they were just thrilled. I recall he did this a couple of times for my grandparents. I thank him and his family. God Bless You All.

Snowball

I remember listening to Los Unicos as a teenager here in California. "Onda Chicana" records as they were called back then, were scarce around here, but I had my connections. Los Unicos were a major influence to me as a musician. I remember my brother and I listening to Ramiro sing "El Hijo Del Pueblo" over and over again. We were blown away by his amazing vocal abilities and the emotion by which he sang this traditional mexican song. WOW! I also loved his incredible guitar playing. One of my favorite guitar intros is the intro on "Mujer Preciosa". Then I heard Snowball's version of "LLoraremos Los Dos" with all the cool synthesizer arrangements and great vocal harmonies and was hooked! I am blessed to have his music still in my record collection. I would like to express my Deepest condolences to the De La Cruz family. Ramiro is playing unto The Lord now and someday we will join him! God bless you.

Latin Breed "Tejano Enamorado"

Who wrote Latin Breed's "El Tejano Enamorado," perhaps the national anthem of Tejano?

Newsflash

Yes, it’s Fiesta time and also time for those ‘Nowhere-else-but-San-Antonio’ moments.

Family festivals everywhere, parades, and outdoor music and dance – and lots of sweet mouth-watering smell of gorditas, chalupasand onion-wrapped fajitas sizzling on the grill wafting through the air.

The Tejano Explosion 2011 has all of that. And though it is
