RadioAirJesus: Teens reaching out to Teens

Teens reaching out to troubled teens on Internet radio is the new approach by officials at the Church of Acts.

“We’re going to be playing all types of Christian rock music but the ultimate goal is to reach the teens that are in trouble or in need of guidance,” says program director /graphic designer Pete Garza Jr.

. “The radio hosts teens will be discussing topics that are affecting all teens, from teen pregnancy to teen suicide.

“We want to make sure everything we do is geared around the Lord. We are going to have kids talking about the problems of everyday kids and hopefully that can help others change their lives.”

The station is called RadioAirJesus goes live on the air at 7 p.m. and can be heard at

Garza said a sampling of the types of groups the station will play includes Pillar, Kutlass, Demon Hunter, Toby Mac, Switchfoot, Man of Sorrows, and Skillet. There will also be a focus on many Central Texas regional groups.

He said the station will be run mostly by teenagers between 13 and 19 from the Church of Acts.
“The programming will include talk shows, a metal hour, a screamo hour and so on,” he said.

Garza said he believes this is the first Christian rock music Internet radio in Central Texas. The new Internet station is only the latest in a series of developments, leading music industry officials to believe Christian music is and has been on the rise. Increasingly, rock, metal, country and Tex-Mex groups have incorporated or are recording all new Christian or inspirational CDs.

Garza said the station and it's personnel firmly believe in the positive power of their faith as seen in this statement from their website:

"We are excited with all that the Lord is doing in our lives. We are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us. We focus on leading our youth to develop a strong faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Youth Ministry also exists to provide middle and high school students a place to interact and build Christian relationships with one another. We would like to have the opportunity to minister to your family and friends. We started Radio Air Jesus with the purpose to have an impact on other youth in the nation and bring Jesus to them via the Internet radio."
