The news, according to the AP and various news sources, is that Adalberto C. Gallegos III, son of Tejano singer Adalberto Jr., was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison Tuesday for his involvement in a drug-related money-laundering scheme.
The story in the Arizona Daily Star goes on to report that Adalberto C. Gallegos III, 33, assisted his father, 52-year-old Adalberto C. Gallegos Jr., in laundering nearly $75,000 worth of proceeds from marijuana transactions between February 2004 and July 2006, according to a plea agreement Gallegos III entered into on Oct. 20, 2008.
The elder Gallegos, who is lead singer of the group Latin Breed, pleaded guilty in May 2008 to laundering more than $270,000 in drug proceeds and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
