The Sam Houston Club centrally located at Fort Sam Houston Club, is a multi-use community center that offers a variety of social and community events.
The event calender at the club is full of activities. In recent months, the Sam Houston Club has become a busy center for social events like wedding receptions, karaoke, quinceañeras, youth and adult activities and other social events.
The club provides a relaxed location to meet friends or coworkers for a buffet style "all you can eat" lunch, held Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Brunch is also served every 1st and third Sunday from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Enjoy a wide selection of breakfast meats, pastries, juice and other specialties. Specialty brunches include a Valentine's Brunch, Easter Brunch, Mother's Day Brunch and Father's Day Brunch. Additionally, guests receive $5 off a Sunday brunch in the month of their Birthday.
According to manager Doug Rush, the club also features community bingo Thursday and Friday. Doors open at 5 p.m. (6:50 p.m.-Early Bird Start). Bingo is also held Saturdays doors open at 11 a.m.(12:50 p.m.-Early Bird Start). Watch for Big Bucks Bingo the first Saturday of every other month for a chance at larger cash prizes. The Bingo Program is open to all military, other government employees (active or retired), their family members, and sponsored signed-in guests. Membership to the Club is not required to play.
There's also the "Sam's Sports Bar." Sam's is open Friday evenings and can be reserved for special events. Amenities include two pool tables, several 25" televisions and one big screen TV. Free finger foods every Friday from 5-6 p.m.
The club is available for special events such as retirement dinners, luncheons, conferences, wedding and anniversary receptions and birthday parties.
