Stubbs, known as Four Tops frontman, led group to the charts

"DETROIT - The Detroit medical examiner's office says Four Tops frontman Levi Stubbs has died at age 72.
"Stubbs was the lead vocalist for the group, which began as the Four Aims in 1954.
"Top hits for the Motown quartet included "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)", "Reach Out I'll Be There," "Baby I Need Your Loving," and "Bernadette."
Stubbs and wife Clineice had five children. He had stopped touring with the latest version of the Four Tops in 2000 after being diagnosed with cancer and later suffering a stroke."

Sad news on a man who many remember as epitomizing the Four Tops and the Motown sound during Motown's '60s and early '70s heyday.
Stubbs was a very distinctive singer. His soulful, bluesy vocal style often made the song, and elevated the classic hits that the Four Tops were known for.
