Tejano/conjunto rhythms, Panamian pop and more on the menu for this weekend.

DesperadozA 1 2008.JPGLos Desperadoz, a solid neo-trad conjunto group will take the main stage tonight, Friday at Graham Central Station.

Led by brothers Mike and Lee Villarreal, Los Depos have long attracted a following for their unique mix of Tejano's percussive polkas, conjunto's folksy melodies and their vocal harmonies.

Elsewhere, the controversial singer DJ Flex drops in at  Club Rio also tonight, Friday, The 27-year-old Panamanian singer is on the charts with his CD "Te Quiero" (EMI) which was recently at the top of the Billboard's Latin music chart.

Down IH 35 at Luckey Road Saloon on Saturday, fans can see Roger Velasquez & Latin Legends, a versatile band playing a mix of oldies, Tex-Mex, funk, and more. Band is also celebrating drummer Richard Solis' birthday that day. Velasquez also also plays Thursdays at Bar on Broadway, 2411 Broadway. Also 8/9, Texas Star Freeport.

Then there's Final Cut  Band, led by Bennie Reyna.

Final Cut plays tonight, Friday at Cadillac Bar, 212 S. Flores. Friday, July 25. No cover. Formed in early 2004,

Final Cut is another of SA's versatile groups, playing a blistering mix of funk, Tejano, cumbias, disco and more.

Reyna, bass/lead vocalist, has played with David Marez, Montecielo, and Monsanto Band. The rest of the band is Marcos Martinez; guitar/ backup vocalist; Joe Mares, keyboards; Alex San Miguel, drummer; Jimmy Alvarez, sax; James Valadez, trumpet; Stacey Rodriguez, singer.

Final Cut is also playing the Hawaiian Luau, presented by Ladies Auxillary, at VFW Post 76, 10 Tenth St. Saturday, July 26.RamosRuben 2.jpg

And in Austin, the Ruben Ramos & Mexican Revolution headlines "Primetime Tejano Music fest" featuring Gary Hobbs, Tex-Maniacs, Los Gallos, Los Texas Wranglers with special guest Augustin Ramirez. Fiesta Gardens, Austin. 2-10 p.m. Sunday, July 27. $5 Details call (512) 845-3136

Los Tovares Solid Tejano band headlines Lucky Roads, Lytle, Texas. Friday, July 25.

Finally, check out Henry Balderrama Saturday at George's Place, 5214 Blanco Rd. (210) 340-1275. It will be club DJ SuperDave's (David Alcantar) birthday.
