More Latin pop and salsa on tap for music fans at the Sam Houston Club at Fort Sam Houston.

LATIN_FOUR 300.JPGComing up is Latin Four, a solid group led by singer Federico Rojo. The group is described as a fusion band that mixes pop, tropical, disco and more.

Led by singer Rojo, the bandmembers include George Flores, drums/percussion; Eddie Bermudez, vocals/keyboards and Miroslava Torres, vocals/ percussions.

The band is scheduled Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Sam Houston Club.

According to bandleader Rojo, the band's top influences includes Hector Lavoe, Marc Anthony, La India, Steve Wonder, and Santana.

The Latin Four concert is the latest in the monthly concert series at the community center known as Sam Houston Club. DJ Papote will open the show. Showtime is 9 p.m.; doors open at 8:30 p.m. Free admission before 9 p.m.; $7 per person, $10 per couple after.

The Sam Houston Club is located at Bldg 1395 Chaffe Rd. at Fort Sam Houston

Officials are advising fans to come in to the base through the Walters/IH 35 and Benz-Engelman/IH 35 gates.

The new Latin Night showcase is a special treat for music fans. It is often that salsa/tropical music gets a new venue in an elegant establishment.

According to manager Doug Rush, the first few Latin Nights at the Sam Houston Club were a success, with Grupo SonCache drawing an estimated 300-plus fans to the club.

Meanwhile, the Sam Houston Club has become a busy center for community events like wedding receptions, quinceaƱeras, youth and adult activities and other social events.
