According to the AFP news agency, the duo's third album on the Sony BMG label will go beyond reggaeton and will include more rhythms like the cumbia and tango. Guests include Rubén Blades and Café Tacvba.

The title, "Los de Atrás Vienen Conmigo," is another subtle reference to immigrants and their plight.

Other musical guests on the new CD include percussionist Héctor "Coco" Barez and Andrés "Kino" Cruz, drummer Ismael Cancel and guitarist Mark Rivera.

The first single from the CD will be released next week.

The duo's previous CD "Residente & Visitante" featured noted producer Gustavo Santalaolla and won a Grammy in 2007. That CD also mixed up tango, hip-hop, rap and more. Additional CD guests included reggaeton king Tego Calderon on "Sin Exagerar," Vicentico on "Llegale a mi Guardia," and Spanish rapper Mala Rodriquez on "Mala Suerte con el 13."

In a previous interview, Calle 13 singer Residente said the duo always likes to expand their musical palette:

There are nuances to the whole copy scenario. For some reason it is seen as acceptable to make a video copy of your favorite television program for later enjoyment as long as you copy it from television. Isn’ t this an extension of your memory in time and space? How many people are there not that keep their favorite movies broadcast on television or via satellite on shelves near the television? Why is it only now with the Internet that the world has become so sensitive to copying video and audio material? ...
