There is little in common between the World Wrestling Federation, the WWC, etc, and Tejano concerts.

Except when it comes to the old 'shootouts,' those hyped-up concerts where bands try to out pose each other.

Well.. now comes Houston's La Mafia and Corpus Christi's Kumbia All Starz who in the grand WWF-style have heavily promoted their concert today.

Go here to check out some funny videos of the bands trying to outboast and outpose each other:

In this La Mafia vs Kumbia All Starz concert, the artists led respectively by Oscar De La Rosa and Armando Lichtenberger and A.B. Quintanilla III, will go 'mano a mano' in a huge Battle of the Bands at the Central Pavilion Arena/Fairgrounds, 1213 Terrie Shamsie Blvd. in Robstown today. Tix are $20-$25. Call (361) 387-9000

Who will win? Who knows.

Does it matter? Probably not.

Hopefully the bands will get a solid crowd out there tonight. The Tejano market certainly needs a shot in the arm.
