LOS ANGELES -- AHAA - the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies is presenting their www.lookwhosleading.com conference here this week.

According to AHAA, this is the LA  conference focus: 

American culture is changing - thanks in large measure to the Latino influence. And advertising is increasingly morphing into another form of entertainment. AHAA member agencies have an opportunity to be leaders, not followers, in this change. Experts from arts, film, music and other areas will share insight and experience.

Your favorite scribe is moderating one panel today titled: "The Rhythm of Lider-ship." Latino culture is at the top of the charts and inspiring everything from Oscar-wining film scores to new business opportunities to a new soundtrack that reflects a bicultural world.? Does success for Latinos in music mean fitting into a preconceived sound or does it require forging new ground? ?

The ideas of brands becoming the new record labels has been building. The brands are now, in some cases, providing audiences and distribution that once were the exclusive domain of record labels. So experts are now discussng how can brands use music to create more direct connections to consumers?

Recent cases include the rock band Kinky performing at the Chivas Studio and Jack Daniels sponsoring an 11-city tour for Beto Cuevas.
