Javier Galvan y Fama and Flaco Jimenez has been pretty busy lately. We'll have an update on Ruco Villarreal as well.
The scoop on Fama is that Galvan has been on the run out promoting the new CD "Nostalgia," all over.
According to Tina Escobedo, Galvan will be on Univision Network, Sunday Sept. 7 at 5 p.m.
on "Hablando Con Las Estrellas." He is also working on radio promotions for several weeks in the Rio Grande Valley and Central Texas.
A CD release party is also in the works while the single "Regresa Pronto" is starting to get airplay. Escobedo added that Galvan is also working on a children's album that will be called "Fama para ninos" and also a new gospel album. No release date has been set yet.
Meanwhile, Flaco Jimenez has been busy as well promoting his latest CD, "Ya Volvi De La Guerra."
In a quick interview, Jimenez said a new tour is in the works for Europe.
"We don't have all the dates yet but we're adding them in as we get them,' he said. "It should be in October and be mostly in Germany,"
He said the tour dates will be posted at his website flacojimenezmusic.com
Jimenez, who plays at Ruben's Place regularly, teamed up with Willie Nelson back in July when Nelson played the nearby Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

And also Ruco Villarreal ("Vuela Paloma") said his plans to finish his new CD is on hold. He's been ill lately and so his collaborations with Jon Esquivel, Henry Brun and others is on temporary standby as Villarreal get better.
Most people may not be familiar with Villarreal, but back in the day he was one of Tejano's top stars. Historian Ramon Hernandez says he's got a collectors item on Ruco.
"By the way, I do have his one and only album in mint condition since it is unopened, "he said.
Villarreal is semi-retired but he keeps busy doing his welding, especially artworks.
