Soft pop music floated over the cavernous arena as fans steadily filled up the lower sections of the center Saturday.
The show, originally slated to start at 8 p.m., had been kicked back to 8:30 p.m, because, according to a spokesman, a delayed sound check.
Iglesias is to come on first for approximately, 45 minutes, leaving the bachata group Aventura to wrap things up later in the evening.
The tour kicked off Thursday in Laredo's Entertainment Center, stopped in McAllen's Dodge Arena Friday and early reports indicate full, enthusiastic houses greeted the artists at each stop.

And in OTHER EI news, Notimex has reported that the Spanish pop singer is planning to release a English version of his greatest hits CD, "95/08," a greatest hits collection which peaked at No. 1 in Billboard's Top Latin Albums charts.

The CD is to include the tracks "Rhythm Divine," "Escape," "Hero" y "Do you know," in addition to two new original tunes.
Iglesias told the agency he is already working on his next CD, due in mid-2009 and plans to visit Mexico in November as part of his current tour.
He also told Notimex that he has already started writing some tunes while on tour :
"Durante el tour he capturado algunas letras. Sin embargo, prefiero inspirarme cuando estoy en la intimidad de mi casa, poner el ambiente a media luz y reflexionar sobre la vida, el amor, el mundo y la amistad; hay tantas cosas en las que puedo abundar," comentó en entrevista telefónica con Notimex desde Laredo, Texas.
