Mexican superstar Thalia says she is ready for summer with a new CD "Lunada."
Produced by Emilio Estefan, the CD,on EMI Televisa, is Thalia's 13th CD, and her first since 2006's "El Sexto Sentido."
In a news statement, Thalia describes "Lunada" as "an expression of freedom and rejoices."
"Lunada is a musical summer feast on a bright moon night. When I started to prepare this record I was in the middle of my pregnancy, and I had only one thought in mind: summer.
"My whole desire was to return to the beach to enjoy the summer weather and at a bonfire, surrounded by friends, listen to the music under the moon light, a real Lunada."
Thalia began the recording of "Lunada" in 2007 after the October birth of her baby daughter, Sabrina Sakae.
The first single is "Ten Paciencia." Thalia says that song was picked by her fans. During a recent two week period, Univision.com played two songs off the new CD. Fans ovewhelmingly picked "Ten Paciencia."
The CD includes a song Thalia dedicated to her daughter, Sabrina Sakae, titled "Bendita." Instead of a lullaby, it is a uptempo tune with a slight reggae favor.
Thalia said the song expresses "all of my feelings regarding the blessing to have that bundle of life in my hands."
